Fl-Lt. C. Staniland,
The Fairey Aviation Co.,Ltd.,
HAYES;
Middlesex.

Dear Staniland,

Mr. Hives has handed me your letter of January 15th regarding some transmission parts for your Alfa Romeo.

Quite frankly we are in a very bad position to undertake any work on gearbox parts, other than our own, as this section has an exceedingly heavy programme for the next two or three months. If it is at all possible we would ask you to get the parts you require made elsewhere; if, on the other hand, you find this is impossible on any particular part, we would be glad to consider the individual piece on its merits.

We hope you will appreciate our reluctance to take up this attitude, but a recent re-organisation has produced an unusually large amount of development work, which is taxing our capacity to the limit.

Yours sincerely,
