Functioning and Endurance.

1. Information.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce brought forward a 40 mm. Aircraft Cannon, with which trials for functioning and endurance were required.

2. Object.

To test the 40 mm. Rolls-Royce for :-

(i) Accuracy and O/V at 90 feet.

(ii) Functioning at elevation and depression at normal temperatures.

(iii) Functioning at elevation and depression at -10°F.{Mr Friese}

(iv) Functioning under sand conditions.

3. Method.

Fired at Pendine on 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th and 14th May.

Gun:- 40 mm. Rolls-Royce M.G. No. 11239.

Mounting:- Rolls-Royce E and D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Ammunition:- 300 rounds 40 mm. H.V. Practice Ammunition.
40 rounds
supplied by Messrs. Rolls-Royce.
