re. PHANTOM SUSPENSION.

It is suggested that the complaint may be forced vibration from the road only, and the periodicity may be that of the irregularities of the road, and not of any part of the suspension, though it sets the rear suspension going.

To test this we suggest blocking out both front and rear springs with wooden blocks, and pumping up the tyres as hard as possible so that if the car is pitching fore and aft on the irregularities of the road only, it ought to be apparent to a person sitting in the back seat.
