WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 40/50 HP. SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. On the cars sent to France fitted with the adopted scheme of brakes, we fitted the RR. 40/50 spare wheel carrier. One of these carriers have failed as shewn on the attached sketch. The complaint is that the carriers do not hold the wheel sufficiently rigid; the wheels work about in the tyre well and wear the tyre. On the previous tests in France, we have broken the Barker type wheel carrier. Attached to R's copy is a photograph of the failure. It would appear that it is necessary to hold the wheel at three points in order to hold it sufficiently firm. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
