Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1112 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/R.18.12.36. QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS & DEPOT WORK. We think it imperative that Hancock should give a considerable portion of his time to the first Wraith which goes to France. Waller is showing promise, but, obviously, his experience so far is very limited. Also, for the time being we want Hancock to run the financial side of Chateauroux. Again, he will have to make visits to France to try the cars which are running there, both for his own benefit, and that of the job. For this reason, we have impressed upon him that he must get somebody whose sole job it is to keep track of his quarterly complaint work all the time, and who will carry the job while he is away. Hancock is going to arrange this. In our opinion, it is impossible to run the secretarial work necessary in France and England as one job. Hancock has discharged Behnan, but tells me that he cannot get another job. We have told Hancock to re-engage Behnan, as cars are bound to be in France more or less continuously during the next 12 months. When it is apparent that testing in France is going to be reduced, it may be necessary to discharge this man, and re-engage him, if he is still at liberty, when testing re-commences. For quarterly complaint work in England, we are proposing to engage an assistant typist, who will work for Hancock, and we are proposing to provide the necessary accommodation so that Hancock can keep his papers straight when the re-arranging of the Garage takes place - this should be shortly after Christmas. We shall proceed on these lines unless we hear from you to the contrary. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
