X-76258 C. EFC. STARTER MOTOR - PHANTOM CHASSIS. EXPERIMENTAL DATA MACHINE. In order to obtain some data on the performance of a machine similar to what we propose to fit to the S.S (E.A.C.10) chassis it is proposed to build up a machine stripped of its trimmings, having a movable end bracket carrying the brushes and 4 alternative sets of field windings. To achieve this will you please put in hand one set of parts to the following instructions, the majority of parts have previously been issued to you on the S.S. chassis motor which you now have in hand, you may have a surplus of parts in many cases which could be utilised for this job. ARMATURE - SEC:8000:- To L.O.P. D.71579 except that - D.71571, D.71569, D.71458, K.4206, D.71573, D.71572, D.71459, K.4601 are not required and the pinion D.71578 should be replaced with dummy pinion D.71659. BEARING BRACKETS - SEC:8010:- To L.O.P. D.71593 except that - D.71474, D.71591, D.70224, E.7544, E.51034, Hoff:Brg:A.8, D.71462, D.71603, D.71582, K.4009, D.71596, D.71479, D.71604, D.71589, K.9009, D.71590, D.71608, are not required and the Commutator End Bracket D.71580 and Screw K.2819 are replaced by D.71655, K.1919 and K.4404. COMMUTATOR - SEC:8020. Complete to L.O.P. D.71601. FRAME AND FIELD WINDING - SEC:8030:- To L.O.P. D.71584 with - 4 sets of main field coils to D.71656 consisting of 3 1/2, 4 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 turns per coil. Two new connectors are required D.71657/8, one off per set of field coils.
