14-G4. FOR 10,000 MILE TEST.

ENGINE. - We wish to use the engine unit out of 12-G4. This should be inspected and should receive attention where required. If they are not already fitted, we should like to fit valves made in Firth's Crown Steel. We wish to retain the high compression pistons, the modified exhaust manifold and the modified carburetter which is at present fitted to this unit.

GEAR BOX.- This unit has a free wheel fitted. We propose leaving this on.

PROPELLER SHAFT. - The D.O. state that you have instructions for the correct propeller shaft for the hypoid axle.

REAR AXLE. - The 9/41 hypoid axle should be fitted. Rear brake shoes should be Ferodo Bonded Asbestos.

ROAD SPRINGS - These should be grooved and the scheme fitted to lubricate the springs from the central oiling.

EXHAUST SYSTEM - We use the present standard silencer with fishtail S.55531. No cut-out fitted. Down-take pipe 1.750" diameter. It is proposed to leave the bracket off this pipe altogether.

FRONT AXLE - Ferobestos brake linings should be fitted.

ELECTRICAL - Larger output dynamo. High tension wiring to KFG3/Ad8.2.30. Modified contact arm S.71440.

SHOCK ABSORBERS - These should be gone over to see that they are standard. The loads should be -

Rear. - Low pressure 55 lbs. High pressure 65 lbs.
Front - Low pressure 50 lbs. High pressure 65 lbs.

WIRING - This car should be fitted with centre lamp and foot switch to operate it.
