WEEK-END RUN ON 1.B.50.

A few complaints on this car are as follows:-

(1) BODY.
None of the doors will shut unless they are slammed violently. Water pours in at two points at the top of the windscreen. The gutters on the roof drain so that one has to pass through a stream of water getting in or out of the car. The leather appears to be a very inferior quality.

(2) ENGINE.
There is bad over-run vibration between 60 and 50 m.p.h. on direct which rattles both the clutch and brake pedal.

(3) GEARBOX.
No gears jumped out of mesh with selector springs in use.

(4) CLUTCH.
In spite of the fact that the pedal is to be against the boards the clutch no longer frees when hot and therefore spoils the synchro change into second.

(5) EXHAUST.
There are several booms which will have to be dealt with later.

(6) BRAKES.
There is a tendency to wander when these are applied hard.

(7) TYRES.
The tyre noise on this car with the standard 'M' series tyre is far worse than one gets on the present Bentley
