| X500a Lillie Hall to W. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}2/L/13.3.36. noted - as/STD We have received your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KW.12.3.36. Will you inform those responsible, that your memos should be enclosed in an envelope. I have had CX{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} on the phone regarding the non starting when hot. 22 G V loss of water, and radiator shutters not opening. We are obtaining better results with the spring taken out of the thermostat, the temperatures are not so high, but we are loosing too much water. This is not due to boiling. With the changing about of crankcases etc. has the water pump by any chance been changed, or have we got a different tank on the radiator? At present we are at a loss why we are loosing so much water. We are trying out the carburetter with the drain pipe removed. With regard to the axle, I thought you were aware that the axle was being prepared. Re 22 G V petrol consumption. We shall be ready for Mr. Fisher when he arrives, and hope that better consumption can be obtained without loss of power. BENTLEY. The oil consumption is improving: there is now no definite smoke from the exhaust. We are getting settled down, but would welcome better conditions. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.W.Hancock.
