Dear Sirs,

Re Boyce Empire Electric Clock No. 601.

Referring to the return to you of the above Clock recently made from the Manufacturers, we have their report to hand and would place before you the following information:-

"It is difficult to definitely state the
"cause of failure because the seals of the
"clock have been broken and the clock
"opened up. The contact spring also is
"missing. We do not know whether the
"spring was deliberately taken off or
"whether it came adrift in normal working
"and was lost when the clock was opened up.
"We are fitting a new spring and a new set
"hand spindle and putting the clock on test
"again."

"We would mention that the clock had been
"re-sealed with red wax whereas we always
"use black. It would appear from their letter
"that Mr. Fowler Clark was not aware that the
"clock had been tampered with."

We bring this information to your notice as naturally the Works find it difficult to ascertain the cause of fault after the clock had been
