Dear Sirs,

The writer regrets that owing to the failure of an experimental gear box, when out testing, he was unable to keep the appointment with you for 11.30 a.m. on 31st. Dec.37. and would be much obliged if you would fix another date, as soon as possible, at about 11.0 a.m.
Any day will be convenient.
