Unsuitability of the current chassis for long bodies and the need for a special bus chassis.

C.J. X393 6th December 1910 6/12/10 R3/D61210. With reference to the attached memo N16/B161110, our chassis is not intended for such long bodies. We think we ought to have a special bus chassis when it is necessary to overhang the back of the body so far. I should assume that with such bodies as the one under discussion there would be considerable trouble with rear boards and the position of the back wheels would not be suitable. In fact, I don't think the thing would ever give any satisfaction unless it is meant to be kept just on the main straight roads. I am very much against excessive dimensions of bodies because they can only lead to dissatisfaction and must, of necessity be heavier than is proportionate to the dimensions. F.H.R. | ||
