COPY TO SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SIDE LEVERS SYNCHROMESH GEARBOX. 25HP.

We have previously sent you a scheme showing the modifications which seen necessary to the levers for the Synchromesh Gearbox on the 25.HP. This was N.sch.3320. A day or so ago we sent to you a pencilled note to the effect that due to an oversight it was stated on that drawing that the levers drawn would be suitable for all cars. This should have read "For "E" & "F" Tpye only."

We send herewith N.sch.3383 showing a layout which we have made for the side levers.

The brake lever is unaltered in the side view. The 10 deg lean of the gear lever on N.sch.3383 cannot be adhered to as the centre of the shaft have been moved back from the position shewn on that scheme.

As our scheme for J.3. we suggest that we should used the set in top to the brake lever on all steerings, so enabling the gear lever to be moved out to 13ins from the centre of the car in the case of "C" & "M" Steerings.

This makes the lever more accessible and the accelerator pedal easier to reach.
