LONDON REPAIR DEPÔT 14841 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from My/Rb.{R. Bowen} My/Rb.{R. Bowen}6/N/139A/BJ 9.5.27 Standardisation of Chassis Parts. Steel Artillery Wheels as an alternative to Wire Wheels, to comply with customer's requests. Sheet X.No.4586. Returned herewith, Standardisation Sheet X.No.4586 with cost filled in. We attach two copies of this covering memo. Please attach one to standardisation sheet when sending same to BJ. The increase in cost is mainly accounted for in the extra price we have to pay for steel Artillery Wheels and Hubs as compared with Wire Wheels and Hubs. A special side spare wheel carrier will be required to suit Artillery Wheels, which we estimate will cost £5-16-3 to manufacture and fit to chassis. This fitting is of course, a chassis extra.
