Re Body "Booming". X.971. 4-12-13. Please note that Mr Spinney confirms that his cure is not applicable to 2300, but suggests that if the hind quarter and back panels are at fault you could stop their booming by taking away their tightness. If they are tightly stretched like the vellum of a drum they will no doubt be troublesome (as are the earlier French leather limousines in Derby), if on the other hand the leather is made slack like the head of an old landaulette it will not boom. p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 5 Dec. 13. I am quite of the opinion that the drum-like action of the tight leather panels cause the bad booming but surely Mr Spinney does not seriously suggest that we make these panels slack (and I believe they will have to be very slack to have the desired effect) so that they will flop about and look like a shapeless bag of wind? | ||
