We should not expect it to be necessary to go so high as 55 lbs. per sq. in. on demonstration cars, especially if the wheels and tyres had been balanced. Under these conditions we believe that 45 lbs per sq. in. will carry the car as fast as it can be driven on the ordinary roads in England. Regarding the butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe, for some time I have been very much in favour of doing away with this. This we are testing. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
