16092. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.10/MA. 20th September, 1935. Messrs. Joseph Lucas, Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM, 19. For the attention of Mr. W.E. Robinson. Dear Sir, We do not consider that we are being kept up-to-date in respect to voltage regulator development on the regulator we fit as standard to all our cars. In fact the first reference we see to modifications to regulators is contained in the "Autocar" dated the 20th instant. Mr. Oliver Lucas has stated to our Mr. Royce that we were being kept up-to-date in respect to the latest developments concerning equipment purchased from you or your associate companies. Whilst this is true in respect to horns and lamps it is not the case with voltage regulators. No improvement or modification to our regulators has been discussed with us since, as the first British car, we standardized Lucas-C.A.V. regulators. These regulators still require, in our opinion, improvement in respect to :- (a) Temperature compensation. (b) Increase in regulation frequency. | ||
