20 HP. & 40/50 HP. - STEP IRONS. X8390 X8380

Every car which we have tested in France for 10,000 miles has had failures of the step irons. In the case of the 40/50 HP. the failures mostly occur on the side which carries the battery box. The step irons break either at the bend or through the bolt holes where they are attached to the frame.

On the 20 HP. the failures occur in similar places.
We have also had frequent failures with the 20 HP. front mud-guard stays. These break through the bolt holes where they are fixed to the frame. Recently however a reinforcement piece has been brazed to the stays at this point.
We have not yet tested in France the improved stays.
