Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW27.7.36. Bentley Brake Judders. The attached report gives some indication of the complexity of this problem. Unintentionally we have during the past 3 years steadily made matters worse by - (1) Adding hand adjustment to the brake camshaft. (2) Stiffening up brake drums. (3) Raising the brake temperature by improving the car performance (4¼ litre engine). 6-B-IV with the modified leverage on the carrier plate and aluminium drums we hope will prove the complete solution to the trouble.
