ENGINES F/HCM/ET/80. 13th April, 1938. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Experimental Department, DERBY. My dear Robotham, The car is going splendidly, and has completed 60,000 miles. The one thing that really troubles me at the present time is the vibration buzz from the change speed lever, which is getting very much worse the last few thousand miles, and is now a nuisance. I am going to America at the end of May, and I am writing to know whether you could be good enough to fit to my car a 4¼ litre engine while I am away, and definitely cure this change speed lever buzz by whatever modification is necessary, and generally overhaul the brakes, which are not too good at the present time. The car looks so well and modern, and so otherwise satisfactory, that I can see no possible object in changing it. You would have four or five weeks to do the job. I should be grateful if you would let me know if you could undertake this work for me. I hope everything is going well. I did not have the pleasure of meeting you the last once or twice I was up at Derby. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, A.H.R.Fedden. | ||
