x3729 To B.J. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG2.10.23. BODIES FOR 10,000 MILES PRODUCTION CHASSIS. x2780 x3729 We require for the 10,000 miles tests on production chassis - 2 bodies - one for the 40/50 HP. suitable for a long type chassis, and one for the 20 HP. We suggest that the 20 HP. body might be one made with special body runner stiffening which has recently been sent through from WW.(see Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M29.9.23). The Cabriolet body which it is suggested this experiment should be tried on, would suit us very well. It would be a very good test for this scheme to have it run 10,000 miles as quickly as possible under observation. Apart from relieving the body from the frame deflections, it also has the advantages of being able to remove the body easily, and also probably it would reduce the noise inside the body. For the 10,000 miles test on the 40/50 HP. we require a suitable body. It might be considered worth while fitting a 40/50 body with this form of stiffening and support. The experience gained with it would be valuable for further reference. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
