contd :- -2- Thus with 1/4" oil tube, multiplication = 5²/.25² = 400/1 Checking by the oil tube method has shewn that the timing device is only accurate to within 3° or 4° on either side of T. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} C. when used by our own testers. Timing the magnetos by the pointer on the timing device is slightly more accurate - the piston movement being more rapid at 35° before T. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} C. The timing device is accurate to within 3° of M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} A.{Mr Adams} when checked on the degree plate. Suggestions regarding the timing of F.XI and XII engines will follow in a later report. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/V.Halliwell. | ||
