D/L21/T12.2.24.

We have arranged with the Borough Accountant that the existing square plates shall be returned to the Licence Office and in exchange we shall receive new type plates bearing the same numbers except that the superfluous O will be omitted thus making the Number Plates correspond with the licences which should be retained and fitted to the new plates.

So as not to inconvenience us the new plates can be brought here to-morrow and the old plates afterwards returned.

Mr. MacMillan has promised to arrange for the Transport Dept., to collect these plates as soon as we let him know when they are available. They should be taken to CHAT. for booking in and distribution to the Departments as under. The Departments will then return to Mr.Chatwin as they become available the square plates which these replace and Mr.Chatwin will please see that they are returned to the Licence Office as early as possible and that we are advised when they are sent.
