CHASSIS NO. GRK-19, MISS EDWARDS.

Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /NRC {N. R. Chandler} 8/D9. 5. 27. We suggest you should refer to the speedometer which accompanied the chassis to Derby with a view to ascertaining the total mileage covered by this car since it was first completed.

According to our records, a brief history of the car is as follows:-

1. The chassis left W. in July 1924 when it went to Barker's Works.

2. Barkers mounted an Open body and the complete car was shipped to Bombay at the end of October 1924 and from Bombay it was sent on to Calcutta where it was placed in the Showrooms there.

3. India, having failed to sell the car either as new or shop-soiled, it was decided to bring it back to England and it arrived here at the end of last year.

4. On its arrival here it was tested to ascertain its condition and as a result of the test it went to N. for certain attention to the chassis, after which it went to a Coachbuilder's Works for some coachwork renovations, following which it went to Lillie Hall where it remained until the end of last month when it was sent up to Chester to be seen by Miss Edwards who, after inspection and trial, decided to buy it.

It went to and from Chester by road and on its return to London went back to Lillie Hall. The trouble in the engine was discovered when it was desired to drive the car from Lillie Hall to a Coachbuilder's Factory for the body to be re-painted in accordance with our arrangements with Miss Edwards.

We estimate that since its return from India the car has covered about 450 miles but we have no records of just what happened to it when it was in India. For all we know it may have been run there.

Can you give us any idea when the chassis is going to be sent back to us?
