Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. YOUR REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/KW. Dear Sirs, We have your favour of the 25th instant, from which we note your wish for particulars of a lubricant which we could recommend to facilitate starting up in cold weather. An extremely suitable grade for your purpose would be Motorine M which during the past two winters has been specially recommended and widely supplied for many makes of cars to give easy starting from cold. Its viscosity and other figures are as follows:- MOTORINE M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Specific Gravity .907 Viscosity @ 70°F.{Mr Friese} 1979" " @ 140°F.{Mr Friese} 190" " @ 200 F.{Mr Friese} 68" Flash Point. Close 395°F.{Mr Friese} Motorine M was originally introduced specifically for Morris cars. For several years it has had Morris Motors approval and we would add that before giving this approval they subjected this new grade to very extensive tests, with very satisfactory results. Besides being an excellent lubricant for winter conditions it finds general use for several makes of cars such as Vauxhall, Ford and Morris. It has the approval of each of these Motor Manufacturers and in consequence is well distributed. It is a grade, therefore, which should meet your requirements in every respect. (Contd.) | ||
