25th.April 1940.

For the attention of Mr.Childs.

Dear Sirs,

Referring to the Clock timing, it was agreed that one of the two Clocks returned to us which was giving very bad time-keeping was one of the earlier type with large case and marked No.4. was purely an experimental model made up for Show purposes only, and in all probability not timed before despatch.

With regard to the other clock, as the writer showed you we have taken very careful timing of this and found that it loses on an average 40 seconds per day.

Both these clocks are being very carefully timed and will be returned to you immediately our tests are completed.

In the meantime instructions have been given that on no account are minus errors to be allowed to be passed out on these clocks and if any errors at all they are to be on the plus side and within 3 to 4 minutes per week.

Yours faithfully,
pp. A.T.Speedometer Co.Ltd.,
