The valve springs which are instructed for the first engines for flight tests are to LeC.2287. It will be seen from the attached report that we are getting very good results.
We consider that investigations into the factors which effect valve spring failures is well worth while because it is a fault we are always in difficulty with, both on cars and aero engines.
