To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 17460 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KT.20.4.31. PETROL TANK FOR 27-EX. The first petrol tank for this car was a failure because the petrol gauge designed stuck out such a long way that it was impossible to make a rear apron, but was not unsightly. We have therefore got out another petrol tank, details of which were sent to you on the 15th instant, Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/HEB{H. Biraben}7/M15.4.31. Will you please make the parts for this tank only leave off the end to which the filler cap is fitted, and also the baffle at that end of the tank. When these pieces are completed, will you please despatch them to Messrs Claudel Hobson., Acton Vale, London. We have arranged with them to fit the modified petrol gauge. The reason we are sending the tank partly dismantled is so that they can build up a boss for their gauge head and make some tests. We want to despatch with the tank the two aero type unions which we asked you to make for us about ten days ago. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
