Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd.
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Leslie.

Dear Sirs,

Mr. Armstrong has handed to us two control rod glands which were seized.

We have examined these and find that the trouble has been due to the small diameter rubbers, if you will remember since our letters of the 6th. and 7th. July, we have fitted a larger diameter gland rubber, since when we have had no difficulty in this direction.

We are enclosing herewith two replacements, these are fitted with larger diameter gland rubbers, the rubbers themselves being made from oil resisting synthetic rubber, a further improvement which has been made since the faulty glands were supplied is that we are relieving the ¼" diameter over quite a good distance. This should also prevent any possibility of seizing.

Assuring you of our utmost co-operation at all times.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. ARMSTRONG'S PATENTS CO. LTD.
