x5005 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.1/KW. 1st September, 1934. The British Tyre & Rubber Co.Ltd., Leyland, Lancs. For the attention of Mr. Evans. Dear Sirs, We thank you for the batch of rubbers which arrived here yesterday, the 31st ult. Their finish appears to be very good, and we hope that these may be a true sample of the production rubbers. The rubbers F.60398 now appear to be very satisfactory; we are at the present time giving these particular rubbers an endurance test. The rubbers will be given a comparison test with the rubbers which have been produced in America. Are you going to paint the exposed steel parts to prevent rust ? If so I will arrange for the drawing to include this. The rubber F.60399 has cracked on the inside when removing the larger diameter of the core. It appears that it will be best to stick one washer to the rubber after the core has been removed. We do not consider that perfect adhesion is necessary on this particular rubber. I suggest that I come to see you on Wednesday next in order to discuss final instructions for production rubbers. Will you please let me know if this is convenient. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
