| THE STEAM FITTINGS CO. Ltd., West Drayton, Mdx. Automatic Temperature Control. INTRODUCTION. AUTOMATIC REGULATION OF TEMPERATURES has not previously received anything like the same attention in this Country, which for a long time past has been devoted to it in the U.S.A. and on the Continent of Europe. At a time when the cost of fuel has risen to a level never foreseen before the War, and is, moreover, scarce, every effort should be made to avoid all waste of this precious, indispensable and exhaustible commodity. The devices of which we submit descriptions, illustrations and prices in the following pages, are all designed as fuel savers. All of them have stood the test of time and are kept up to date by the embodiment of improvements suggested by prolonged experience. The maintenance of constant temperatures in living rooms and work-shops—which involves avoidance of overheating as well as suitable raising of temperature—not only saves fuel, but by creating conditions of comfort, contributes towards good health—and in workshops—towards increased output. Manufacturers of many articles know well the necessity of maintaining constant temperatures for their operations, and will readily appreciate apparatus which does automatically and accurately without working expense, what, at great expense, can only be imperfectly done by manual labour. In many instances Automatic Temperature Control pays for itself, in a few months if not weeks, by the saving in fuel and labour. The advantages gained in other directions by its installation, such as increased comfort, increased output and improved quality of product, frequently exceed the direct saving many times, although they are less obvious to the casual observer. Success is only obtained by specialisation, and therefore we specialise in heat control.
