| +242 2-7 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.29.6.34. C.c. for Mr. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [illegible] Mr. Olley. Rear Damper Suspension - Bentley. N. Sch.4110 herewith is a revised scheme which supersedes N.Sch.4042. We have applied conical surfaces to the joints which are most heavily loaded. Conical surfaces are formed on the bolts and nuts instead of by separate washers, to reduce cost, and we rely upon the flexibility of the long bolts keeping the joints tight without spring washers.
