STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts: MODIFIED STARTER MOTOR DRIVE.
Origin: To improve reliability.
Experimental Test Report: The proposal is to fit a scheme using a multiple plate friction clutch in place of the present complicated Bijur scheme.
Road Test Report: This scheme was given a 1000 starts under all kinds of conditions. This we consider is equivalent to more than 10,000 miles under normal conditions. The car fitted with this starter has since been used for 4500 miles. No troubles have occurred.
