We are handing to you Production Motor No.74 which we have selected for the purpose of the 10,000 mile test.

We are handing to you together with this brush Springs N.1760 4 and/C.M.3 Morganite brushes. Will you kindly have these springs and brushes fitted to this motor at the earliest opportunity so that we may try this combination out under the most adverse conditions on the bench. We have now three different strengths of springs and three different grades of brushes from which to find the most suitable combination and it will be necessary to try various combinations to secure this. As soon as you have this motor ready for us, we shall hand to you our Experimental Motor to be fitted up with a somewhat different combination while we are making tests of No.74.

We shall be glad if you can arrange to make the changes we shall require as expeditiously as possible so that we can fix up what is really the best combination and endeavour to get this standardised on production.

We shall probably ask you to put on finally for the 10,000 mile test for this motor, the new design of brush holder similar to the design got out for the 20 HP. motor, but in the meanwhile, we wish to carry out these experiments.

EFC.
