CONFIRMATION OF TELEPHONE MESSAGE
TO MR. BAILEY.

re. BRAKES.

My experience is that we cannot make our brakes really satisfactory for the speed merchant unless we have a more rigid drum like the original.

Will you please get ring forgings - 4 each size, i.e. 2 sets - at once as follows:

FRONT.
To clean up 15" bore, 16.5" outside, 2.125" wide.

BACK.
" 16" bore, 17.750" ", 4.250" "

These dimensions are rather less than the original.

You may have some of the original ones in stock: if so, get them on test.

We shall be working at the shoes which I now think is the way to cure any troubles that shew up in connection with stiffer shoes, such as jaggers, fierceness, etc.
