Frost - Coachwork Inspector} [crossed out] ORIGINAL R1/M28.11.30. x4612. CONFIRMATION OF TELEPHONE MESSAGE TO MR. BAILEY. re. BRAKES. My experience is that we cannot make our brakes really satisfactory for the speed merchant unless we have a more rigid drum like the original. Will you please get ring forgings - 4 each size, i.e. 2 sets - at once as follows: FRONT. To clean up 15" bore, 16.5" outside, 2.125" wide. BACK. " 16" bore, 17.750" ", 4.250" " These dimensions are rather less than the original. You may have some of the original ones in stock: if so, get them on test. We shall be working at the shoes which I now think is the way to cure any troubles that shew up in connection with stiffer shoes, such as jaggers, fierceness, etc. R.{Sir Henry Royce} SINCE ADDED. These rings will be carried on a sheet steel disc (somewhat coned.) | ||
