Coverley - Production Engineer}, HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swindell. SECRET SpectreCodename for Phantom III Carburetters. We send you herewith LeC.4634 of a modified jet bush for the above carburetter. The object of this modification is to delete the counter bore in the jet bush as it was at one time proposed to do on the 20/25, in order to minimise production errors. As this is a new carburetter we feel that we should start off with the best we know in this direction, and should therefore be pleased if this new jet bush could be fitted to all SpectreCodename for Phantom III carburetters as soon as a suitable needle to go with it has been developed. Other points to which attention is drawn on this scheme are the accurate finishing of the depth of the flat bottomed hole in the piston, and also the length of the parallel portion of the needle. The material of the jet housing nut has been modified to Stainless Steel as was done on the 20/25. The Jet assembly should be machined and gauged as we are at present doing on the 20/25. E/PSN.
