| 305. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std10/R.23.3.37. Referring to E/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/MN.10.3.37., we wish to carry out the experiment of mounting the bonnet off the scuttle instead of the dash on 36-EX car, which will be going into the Shop shortly after Easter. To do this the body must be fixed solid with the dash, by substituting aluminium distance pieces for the rubber packings. This conversion is carried out for Sedanca -de-Ville bodies as a standard practice. Will you please obtain the necessary parts from production - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD{Frank Dodd - Bodies} can give particulars of same - and fit them to this car. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD{Frank Dodd - Bodies} will then arrange with the Coach-builders to co-operate in mounting the bonnet off the scuttle - finally the bonnet supporting strips on the dash should be removed.
