X.8650 S E C R E T. To BY/RD. from EFC. EFC6/T7.10.24. X.8650. EAC. SILENT STARTER GEAR. With reference to the fact that the nichrome wire recommended in our EFC4/T26.4.24, will not solder or braze conveniently, the alternative use of Eureka wire has been looked into. It is found that for the same resistance in the same length of 2 ft. the wire would have to be of 36 SWG, which is rather on the fine side. Alternatively to this, if No.34 SWG. Eureka wire were used, the length to be accommodated would have to be 3 ft. Eureka resistance wire of this size would have to be ordered from The London Elec. Wire Co. The final decision on which of the three kinds of wire should be used depends more upon mechanical considerations than electrical, and this we leave to your judgement. EFC . | ||
