E.A.C.14. & PHANTOM CHASSIS.

SIDE STEERING TUBE - SEC:7070.

Further to our memo' BY/HEB{H. Biraben}19/M.9.11.27, by which we issued the following:-

F.77931 Inner Plug. 2 off per chassis.
F.77932 Outer 2 " " "
F.77933 Ball Pad. 4 " " "
F.77934 Spring. 4 " " "

Kindly note that the above were only for use on E.A.C.14 and necessitated the building up of a new tube. We have now been requested by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} to endeavour to obtain a 2000 lbs/inch spring which will be interchangeable with the 1500 lbs/inch springs in Standard Phantom Tubes, and therefore one which can be used on E.A.C.14. without requiring other new parts.

We therefore issue herewith two Blue Prints of the following:-

F.77944 Spring for Side Steering Tube. 4 off per chassis.

Kindly instruct for the above to be produced and fitted Experimentally, noting that F.77931-4 will not be required, and should be cancelled.

The Tube F.77859 issued by the above mentioned memo' will still be required for E.A.C.14 as the Steering Box is moved forward 1.500 necessitating a short tube.
