Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} / DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} See me Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. For the attention of Mr. W.A. Robotham. Dear Sirs, We are pleased to inform you that the five Wheels which you ordered to our Drawing No. EX. 7322 have been despatched to you this afternoon. While we sincerely regret the abnormal delay in producing these sample wheels we feel sure you will appreciate the exceptional difficulties which have surrounded each stage in their manufacture due to the present conditions. You will notice that among other slight deviations from the drawings the depth of the flange is slightly greater near the skid chain slots in the disc. This means that these wheels produced under production conditions will be a few ounces less in weight than our samples. These slight differences are due to the fact that the wheels have been constructed with make-shift tools. The weight of the wheels is 13.lbs.0 1/2 oz. each unpainted, and 13.lbs. 2 ozs. after painting. Assuring you of our best attention at all times. We are, Yours faithfully, KELSEY-HAYES WHEEL COMPANY.
