c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Rg.{Mr Rowledge} c. to R.R. Springfield. 8777? Expl. Dept. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ. January 25th.1930. Mr. S. Heron. Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio.U.S.A. Dear Heron, I should be greatly obliged if you could help us to obtain some really good samples of salt cooled valves. I enclose herewith drawings we have made of the valves we require, but if you consider they could be improved without altering guide and cylinder dimensions please have it done. We propose ordering 30 of these valves. R.R.Springfield, Mass. will send an order to the firm you recommend. I have asked them to get in touch with you. I should also be very grateful if you could recommend R.R.Sp.{Mr Spinney} the best place to obtain 'Kelmit' lined bearings. We recently received some from the Sumet Corporation, but these were not good. If you would be kind enough to let R.R.Sp.{Mr Spinney} have this information they will send on the order and drawings. I will let you know the results we obtain with the salt cooled valves. Best wishes, | ||
