To J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} ________________ With reference to the question of ignition plugs, I agree to the standardisation of the Lodge Plugs, as it is considered that these have done even better than the Bosch in the test, and it will make one piece more English, without loss of efficiency. This also points rather to the inadvisability of our introducing the Bosch System of Electric Lighting. So far I have a very good complaint against it, inasmuch as the system is an earthed one, which is undesirable, that is, one pole of the battery is uninsulated from the frame of the car. This renders it unsuitable for use with our lighting batteries, as only one half of the cells can be used, whereas with an insulated system we can use both halves of the cells as we are doing with the Lucas set on 58 NA.{Mr Nadin} (Sgd) F.H.R. | ||
