With reference to the six sets of exhaust pipes made in Staybrite, which have been delivered to the Works, these should be disposed of as follows:-
a {Mr Adams} /- Three sets should be sent to the Experimental Dept. who should fit these on
1. The car about to go to France to test out the new front axle.
2. To two other chassis likely to do arduous running.
b/- Three sets should be built up by the Works and fitted to production chassis, with the object of finding out whether there are any difficulties from a production point of view in attempting to braze these parts.
I wish to warn the Works, however, that it is essential, in making a brazed joint in this material, that there should not be more than .002 clearance between the flange and the tube, for which reason the ends of the tube have been expanded to suit the flanges.
The asbestos lagging round the pipes must be continued.
