PEDALS X3593 X4267 To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EFC. E4/G6.11.20. X.3593. RE STEERING AND PEDAL POSITIONS - "GOSHAWK". We return herewith your blue print of N. scheme 572 shewing some pencil alterations made by Mr. Royce. It is desired to increase the amount of room between the steering column and the seat vertically, but the height of seats should be retained so that it will be necessary to raisethe steering wheel. The distance from the dash to the back of the steering wheel for "C" should be altered from 33" to 32", and the dimension from this to the back of the seat from 15" to 16". In the case of "D" steering these dimensions should be altered from 29 1/2" to 29" and from 15" to 16" respectively. The distance from the steering wheel to the top of the seat for "C" should be increased form 8 1/2" to 9 1/2" minimum (10" preferred,) and the same dimension for "B" from 9 1/4" to 10". It is thought that the pedal plates are not so near the dash on "N scheme 572 as the "Buzzard", and it is desired to alter the distance on "C" between the dash and the upper clutch pedal position from 7.625" to 6.500", and for "B" from 5.350" to 4.750". If possible, the centre of the gear change and brake lever should be moved back 1" for both "B" and "C". It is thought that the length of the seat Contd. | ||
