Copy of this letter sent to Messrs. Bramber Engineering Co.Ltd. X1336 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}14/MA. 10th August, 1936. The India Tyre & Rubber Co.Ltd., Inchinnan, Scotland. Dear Sirs, Recently you made for us for test on a Bentley chassis a set of 17 x 4" rims for 6" tyres. These were then modified to reduce the front track to our stand dimension. We have these last wheels at the Works but find there is no provision for balance weights, nor can we fit our usual arrangement because of fouling the spokes. We are sending you a drawing GB.2397 showing our suggestion for modification to the spoking. If you agree with this will you please put in hand a set of 6 wheels to this drawing. If you can modify the wheels we have we will return them to you. In any case we will send Messrs.Brambers the necessary balance weight fixtures. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
