Champion Sparking Plug Co., 83, Pall Mall, S.W.1.
Yesterday we received a visit from Mr.O.Davidson, representative of the above-mentioned firm, who was particularly anxious to know the result of our tests of Champion plugs.
I ascertained that plugs supplied to Test Dept. had been tried out in engines on bench test and had not proved satisfactory, but on enquiring for you I was told you were out.
I had in mind your note Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG11.8.25 and informed Mr.Davidson that there was no probability whatever of our adopting sparking plugs which had to be imported from overseas, although they are made in Canada which is a British Colony. Mr.Davidson appeared to be surprised that we should take up such an attitude and I did my best to make the reason clear to him.
These people are most persistent and in my opinion the only way to prevent their constantly troubling us is to give them a report on the plugs, which can be referred to on future occasions when they come. If you can let me have such report, I shall be much obliged.

Our tests showed that these plugs were not as satisfactory as those we are using at present.
