Regulations for determining the winners of the 16th Reliability Grand Prix and the 14th Biennial Rudge-Whitworth Cup.

(I4) The fraction of the last lapcounting in order to ascertain the total distance covered in 24 hours will be calculated according to the average speed reached on said last lap. The maximum time allowed for said last lap is thirty minutes (30 m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}) counting from the time of passing for the last time previous to the expiry of the 24th. hour. Any car arriving after the expiry of this 30 minute period will be unplaced. DETERMINATION OF THE WINNER OF THE I6th. RELIABILITY GRAND PRIX Art. I5. - The competitor who has covered the greatest distance during the Le Mans 24 hours Race in I939 shall be declared the winner of the I6th. Reliability Grand Prix. H will win outright the A.C.O. Cup (IIth. annual distance Cup) allocated for this performance. In addition, a classification according to distance for each category on basic cylinder capacity will be drawn up. The first in each category will be awarded the grand silver-gilt medal of the A.C.O. The classes provided are as follows : A .......... 8,00I cc and over B .......... 5,00I cc to 8,000 cc C .......... 3,00I cc to 5,000 cc D .......... 2,00I cc to 3,000 cc E .......... I,50I cc to 2,000 cc F .......... I,IOI cc to I,500 cc G .......... 75I cc to I,I00 cc H .......... 50I cc to 750 cc I .......... 35I cc to 500 cc J .......... 350 cc and under All placed competitors who have not received one of the above prizes will be awarded the A.C.O. bronze medal. DETERMINATION OF THE WINNER OF THE I4th. BIENNIAL RUDGE-WHITWORTH CUP Art. I6. - For vehicles entered in the final of the I4th. Biennial I938-I939 Rudge-Whitworth Cup, a classification will be established as stipulated hereinbelow : a) In order to be placed each competitor must have covered, in 24 hours, a distance D greater than, or at least equal to, the minimum stipulated distance M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} However, the mileage covered over and above the minimum mileage M imposed according to the basic cylinder capacity will be taken into account in calculating the total distance D only so long as the average speed maintained on this additional mileage is at least equal to the minimum average hourly speed stipulated. For any competitor who has not effected this average, the total distance covered taken into account for the classification will be reduced to M; the minimum distance stipulated. In this particular case D will be equal to M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} b) Determination of the average hourly speed on the distance D - M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} The average hourly speed maintained on the additional mileage will be the quotient of said additional mileage by the time taken in covering it. | ||
