S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CONFIDENTIAL. K3465 Bt{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}1/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/9.2.25. Dict. 7/2. I am anxious to obtain one of the steering wheels with a larger diameter for use on my car 78-FW. I am told that should this big wheel be standardised, the method of securing it to the column will be quite different to that used on 78-FW, and therefore one of the new wheels will be of no use for 78-FW. On the other hand, I believe there were four wheels made for experimental purposes which were formed with the key and keyway method of attachment to the column, as has been standard on our 40/50 cars for so long. The object of the present memo is to ask if you have any such wheel which is either no longer required for experimental purposes, or is being disposed of with an ex-experimental chassis to be sold, which you could let me have. In the latter case I could of course send you a standard wheel from 78-FW. Bt.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} | ||
