STEEL BACK BABBITT LINED BEARINGS HARD ROLLED BRONZE BUSHINGS FL/BJT 3rd September 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr.Swindall. Dear Sirs, With further reference to your letter of the 31st August regarding a set of bearings for one of your experimental units, similar to our layout L.1076, we note you state you propose boring the case 2.6655"/2.6660". We wish to point out, however, that the case bore shown on the amended layout handed to you by our Mr. Johnson in March was 2.6635"/2.6640", as owing to the shaft diameter being slightly different to the original information to the extent of .002" the case bore was altered to suit. We mention this point so that there will be no error in boring your crank case to the correct dimensions. We are proceeding with the layout for these bearings, and will send you a blue print of same in the near future. Assuring you of our best attention at all times. Yours faithfully, VANDERVELL PRODUCTS LIMITED. | ||
