Dear Sirs, We have now completed the drawings for our Phantom III timing gear with die cast aluminium centre and enclose prints Nos. SCD.420, EXS.437/8. We have not shown the machining allowance on the face and side of the rim of the gear but leave this to your discretion. Will you please let us know whether you have any comments to make on these drawings. We are now making 6 centres to our ExS.437 which will be sent to you as soon as they are completed. For trial purposes these centres will be sand castings. If you have no adverse comments to make on our drawings will you please prepare a sample mould. Our Order Office will send you an official order for the six sample blanks. In the case of our larger gear, which we have also discussed with you, we are now having to alter the design for reasons independent of the gear, and until this matter is settled we wish to hold up this gear. It is possible that we may have to adopt a steel centre on our larger gear owing to a modified method of fixing it to the shaft and we would like to have a sample of | ||
